really funny to me that the democrats always have 1-3 guys on hand to make sure the democrats can put up the performance of resistance while still ultimately getting the government to pass what the combined democratic-republican party ultimately wants

With a final tally of 213-214, the war powers resolution to disengage US forces from the war on Iran failed by a single vote. Representative Jared Golden of Maine was the sole Democratic lawmaker to vote against the measure. Had he voted for it, it would have passed, handing Trump an historic loss.

On the 6th of April 1993, the 1st episode of Iron Leaguer aired. A unique sports mecha anime by Sunrise, it ran for 52 episodes & had a 5 episode OVA series. It debuted in SRW NEO (Wii) in 2009. Happy 33rd Anniversary 🎉

“Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. The physicist who led that transformation says the same playbook could work anywhere—if governments have the courage to change the rules.”

This sounds unbelievable but its true: since Bezos acquired The Post, his wealth has grown tenfold and the Post has been cut in half. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/the-trust-...

More than 75,000 Post readers cancelled their subscriptions after the recent cuts. An even larger number bailed after Bezos killed the endorsement of Harris, but now the decline feels terminal. Bezos does not want a great paper with a conservative opinion page (like the Wall Street Journal). He seemingly barely wants a paper at all, treating one of the most important American media institutions like an embarrassing child from a previous marriage that no longer fits his lifestyle.

As an aside: the most influential Dem consultants all believe the best electoral strategy is to adopt a hostile posture towards the Dem base in the hopes that might convince this person to vote for Dems. They get really mad if you say that won't do anything except depress lean-Dem turnout.

“my children might see the children I voted to put in shackles, how shall they grow up”

Stacy Bradley voted for President Trump because of his border policies, and she likes that he has restored “law and order.” But she is unsettled by one aspect of his immigration agenda.

Last month, the federal government bought a warehouse next to her cheerleading gym in Surprise, Ariz., which the administration plans to convert into a detention center for up to 1,500 immigrants.

Ms. Bradley, the co-owner of Woodlands Elite Cheer, said she worried that a detainee could escape, or that protests could break out. The children who train at her gym are as young as 3 and could see “people in shackles” next door, she said.

so… the brood patch…….. #vashwood 🪽

ren (hiatus)@plumtoad.bsky.social · last yr.

I learned two important things 1. why wolfwood's chest is hairless and his tits fat and 2. vash gets huge nads when he's broody

"How do bald eagles keep their eggs warm in subzero temperatures? They apply heat via a special area of bare skin on their bellies called a brood patch. Shortly before laying, the hormones oestrogen, prolactin, and progesterone cause feathers on a bird’s belly to loosen and drop off, creating a patch of bare skin.

Oestrogen develops supplemental blood vessels in and around the patch, carrying warm blood close to the skin’s surface. It may also cause eagles to store fat in and around the patch, making it swell and increasing its pliability."

Nioh 3 is going to be my life ruiner this year in terms of time sunk. Like I knew this already before it came out but it’s just so good I know I’m going to be making sets for every weapon. It is like what I wanted MH Wilds to be last year but it’s actually working this time
