So honored and delighted to share that my debut novel, The Scald-Crow, is on the Horror Writers Association's 2025 Stoker Preliminary Ballot for Superior Achievement in a First Novel alongside a whole cast of crackerjack works! Big congrats to all the preliminary folks! This is so surreal!

I'm in this article too - and what a coincidence, I recommend The Barre Incidents by @renbolger.bsky.social which is an incredible blend of various folklores in an emotionally resonant horror page-turner!

Happy Halloween! Wanted to share this awesome showcase of Chicago Horror books/bookstores. Thanks to @mrdankelly.bsky.social who puts this out yearly. ❤️ This year I wrote about The Scald Crow by @gracedalyauthor.bsky.social which is an absolute must-read. thirdcoastreview.com/lit/2025/10/...

My debut horror/comedy novel, The Scald-Crow, is out today! It's about chronic pain, invisible disability, childhood trauma, and medical trauma, but it's funny, I promise! It's also about Irish folklore, a heroic rescue cat, and a really irritating bird. There's something for everyone! 🐦‍⬛♿☘️
