Thanks for sharing Steve. I had the pleasure of reviewing Alexia’s book and was gutted to hear this news. She can write electric and breathless scenes filled with vivid imagery. In the Name of the Flame is book 1 of a no spice romantasy series, highly rated on GR 🐉 #romantasy #dragons #bookstagram

Hey #SPFBO community! One of this year's #SPFBOXI authors (Alexia Muelle Rushbrook) suffered a family workshop fire on the 22nd. Details are here: www.gofundme.com/f/family-fir... You can also pick up Alexis's book here!: www.alexiamuellerushbrook.co.uk/in-the-name-... #booksky #writesky

Credit to the rec that ultimately got me to pick up THE EVERLASTING: I was at a write in & my friend @gradyish.bsky.social was pouring over a copy. I asked him about it. He was working on a review about it that is surely more sophisticated than my “FUCK YEAH”s www.sffinsiders.com/blog/review-...

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow — SFF Insiders

Fans of Lady knights and Yew trees rejoice! Skeptics, you’ll convert too. Harrow writes with rare beauty that promises to make “The Everlasting” a new classic.

I blazed through THE EVERLASTING by @alixeharrow.bsky.social in a couple days. It is a fantastic book and my only complaint is that more than once I was so enamored with the prose I was compelled to issue profane declarations of appreciation out loud earning me awkward and confused looks.

The Everlasting Alix E. Harrow I've been looking forward to this one for a while. Spiritually related to my previous reviews of "Hild" and "The Green Knight," this is the culmination of a lot of my recent thematic explorations. And all within a romance? Who would have guessed. …

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe was for a long while my favorite book. Narnia’s the first series I ever owned and read in full. CS Lewis was a beautiful writer. Captured dreamlike wonder from a child’s perspective magnificently #Bookvember #booksky #writesky #books #authors #narnia #cslewis

First Law Trilogy 1. The Blade Itself Joe Abercrombie All throughout, the writing is suffused with wry, black humor. How else can you cope in a world as grim and uncaring as this? Yet beneath the grotesqueness, there are glimpses of warm hearts and tenderness, even from the darkest seeming souls.📚💙

Assassin’s Apprentice Robin Hobb “It’s my first Robin Hobb novel and I’m an absolute convert. She effortlessly works on multiple levels and […] it’s plain to see why she’s on so many people’s Mount Rushmore of fantasy writers” Check the 🔗 to my full review below! #bookreview #robinhobb 📚💙 📚🪐

I brought 3 books… and left with 7 more. Not on my bingo card for WorldCon 😅 but I wanted to share my gets! Let’s go: 1. Royal Assassin, Robin Hobb. A free (signed!) copy from the excellent Freebie lounge. I just finished book 1 of the series. Thrilled to have book 2 @robinhobb.bsky.social

Moby Dick Herman Melville “Call me Ishmael.” Okay, Herman. This American Leviathan is a voyage that tests you and dares you to meet it on its own supernatural terms. It presents as a novel, but the writing style is utterly experimental. 1/x 📚💙 📚🖋️ #books #bookreview #mobyDICK

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people
