Slightly foxed. Lancastrian. Obscurist. Goonatic. Beatle nut. Christian. Quondam and eventual jazz pianist, I hope. Massively over-sensitive. Kiboshed by ME. Hobbies: leaning against the sideboard gasping for breath.

Just think. If the film 1941 had been a hit then there could have been a Goodies movie directed by Spielberg. As Bill said, "One day we had a call from Steven Spielberg. He left a message saying he wanted to make a Goodies film. We laughed it off, but it was true." 1941 tanked, so it didn't happen

RIP Bill Oddie - major part of my formative years. Here he is back in 2019, at the last ever recording made by The Goodies, telling Dirk Maggs how to do everything. That was the most joyous night I’ve spent in a theatre for many a year.

Watching Shirley Valentine yet again to get me in the mood for a forthcoming holiday…and the US dub is really irritating. We’ve lost the full Scouse beauty of ‘two rabbits havin’ a shag’, amongst lots of other bits.

Well, that affected me less than I thought it might. Always a rugby league fan, and oh yes, cricket. [checks Eng V Ind One-Day score] [retires to garden with a beer, a nice book, and earphones playing Sibelius, where I’ll probably remain until October]

Wigan won the rugby tonight against Warrington. Lancashire beat Yorkshire in the T20 Blast. A good football match was on. I watched two episodes of a Harlan Coben serial on Netflix because I’m married.
