TIL Someone discovered (and patched!) a bug in Turbo C 2.01 after 35 years
What's impressive to me isn't so much the troubleshooting or the patching. I'm not an MS-DOS programmer, not even a low-level developer, but I'm...

I do not want GenAI in fanart. I do not want GenAI in character design. I do not want GenAI in world design. I do not want GenAI in writing. I do not want GenAI in storyboarding. I do not want GenAI in voice acting. I do not want GenAI, period. If any piece of media uses GenAI, I don't want it.

Who needs inheritance and polymorphism when you can just union 3 different bit packed structs in the same byte?
Got this Thinkpad 390E with docking station for $6 due to the broken screen hinge. Seems to work but it has a BIOS-set password so I can't boot it to test further. Anyone know an easy way to reset/bypass the password on these?

i built an entire x86 CPU emulator in CSS (no javascript) you can write programs in C, compile them to x86 machine code with GCC, and run them inside CSS lyra.horse/x86css/
It infuriates me that modern software does not respect or follow local language settings on devices anymore. "Neighbour" is correctly spelt with the 'u' in it, yet Chrome and everything built on Chromium insists on flagging it wrong and trying to conform everything to American english.
