A PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) Red Flag Warning is in effect for Saturday. Extreme conditions are forecast for the afternoon and evening with southwest winds of 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH. Very rapid fire growth is possible with any new or existing wildfires. The areas included in this warning include the Waterville Plateau, Okanogan Valley, Western Columbia Basin, Colville Reservation, Spokane Area, Palouse, and Snake River.

B/c we can't be subtle: op-eds like this are a major CAUSE of the phenomena they PRETEND to describe at a distance. This is (big word) DISINGENUOUS, at best. We teach students how to think (brace yourself) CRITICALLY so they can detect when someone pretending to be an everyman has a narrow AGENDA

Reading recs please: do you have any favorite economic writing about casino capitalism? I would love recommendations from Keynesian/Marxian/Money and Banking econ about trends in financial markets that look like gambling (meme stocks, coins, prediction markets, etc), and critiques of the idea, too!

The Idaho AG's office sent a fiery letter to the US DOJ on Friday, in response to the Trump administration's recent message to state election officials. "Your insinuations of criminal violations of the federal election laws are not well taken," wrote a deputy AG who represents Idaho's SOS.
