Bay Area friends: would you consider opening your home to these two cuddly cats? A friend found them behind a gas station. Their sibling, a black cat, got adopted, but it appears no one likes orange cats. They are being kept in a bathroom for the time being and need a home.

Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?

I really wish the only people allowed to talk about GLP1s in public are those who medically qualify for them and have used them. Cause it sure seems like the bulk of discourse is from people who don’t and haven’t but boy do they have a lot of opinions. Reminds me so much of trans healthcare
It’s weird to me with the Hank Green AI thing that it’s being framed as a scandal and he “got caught”. Maybe I’m missing something, but the story seems to be he used it to surface links to research papers and maybe at worse has found himself having long conversations with it.
Social media has cooked everyone’s brains and no one has the good sense or respect to differentiate between saying something in public or private. Literally begging people to think about where they’re saying something before they spout it off.
Thinking about AI as well as about half the people on the internet have equal ability to speak with utter confidence about things they know very little about.
The funniest possible outcome of the AI story would be if we indeed manage to make AI capable of doing all anyone’s ever promised it capable of but it just costs so much they decide to just pay people to do it instead (Which actually has been the story of most “AI” things already)
In my lifetime I don’t think anything has made me want to give up on this broken country like the mass shared delusion about something that happened just a few years ago. So many brains are just completely gone and they’re not coming back.

I’m pretty sure the world doesn’t work off narrative principles but man it seems on the nose that decades of research into AI just happened to coalesce into the slop machine right at the time where corporate culture and fascists we’re already regurgitating IP and tired cultural myths into our faces

I’ve read so much about how capitalism in the USA changed in the 70s-90s but I still just can’t wrap my mind around how we went from a world of modestly paid, long term sustainability and employee welfare minded CEOs, to childish impulsive greed is good brained idiots who can’t see past a quarter
Representation is great. Keep it coming! On the other hand I do miss the brief period of time when the most visible trans people were normal looking YouTube vloggers and not all impossibly hot.

Inundate the normies with trans representation until the regressives pop like a balloon Alex Jones style. Trans people make up 1% of humanity. Get us in 1% of pop culture.

I know LA must be crawling with gay and trans people and yet…where the hell are they all? Everyone I know who’s queer in this place is an introvert like me and knows almost no one else. Whys it so hard to meet people.

We spend trillions of dollars on the military, instead of anything useful, to engage in wars no one wants and despite the trillions of dollars we can’t even win. What the fuck is the point.
Any sport that doesn’t divvy up athletes by height and weight class is already unfair. Trans people have nothing to do with this. If anybody professes to care about biological advantages in sports but has no problem with a 7’2” basketball player stuffing a guy that’s 6’5”, they are delusional.
The scale of investment in the AI buildout just makes me profoundly depressed thinking about all the amazing things that could have been built with that money that would have had such a better day to day impact on the average American’s life. Could have had high speed rail to everywhere
I don't think people understand the degree to which outlets like The Atlantic and The New York Times set back trans rights with second-rate reporting that doesn't stand up now, let alone in the future. They have failed at the most basic journalistic duties.

Every time there’s public discourse, video, article about a topic I’m intimately familiar with I’m always shocked by the level of ignorance and misinformation and just like cowering with the knowledge this is probably the case with EVERYTHING.
