The amount Suno is being pushed towards musicians via YouTube ads on any music making related videos is nuts. Making the music is supposed to be the fun part. Who is out there watching videos about a cool synthesizer and going "but I could just prompt that"

I'm massively cutting down on the number of vrc accounts I follow for my own mental health. It's not personal and anyone who wants to unfollow back that's totally fine. I want to engage with people more directly and not through social media profiles. We can still be friends I promise.

I've received a lot of good advice from some smarter friends so I want to distill this one down for those who need it: You don't need to immediately form an opinion from incomplete information. You are allowed to take as long as you need to process it. You are allowed to say "I don't know."

I wanna circle back to this. I am a cis man. I thought I might be agender because frankly all the discussions I've seen of masculinity do not match how I feel. There aren't very many good discussions of masculinity or being a man out there that don't enforce toxic gender norms. (cont)

Shout out to all my trans and nb friends for helping me navigate my feelings around gender in a society where I feel almost a visceral disgust to men and masculinity. I've been slowly disentangling myself from the gender expectations I was raised with and having yalls thoughts is super helpful.

It should also not be necessary for me to say this, but the moment you use violence that was done someone to push an argument or agenda, all you look like is a fucked up individual. Have some respect instead of using someone's trauma to back up your nonsense or elevate yourself you piece of shit.

The best way you can offer others grace (and, truly, yourself) is to just listen with the intent to understand. We all have to do a *lot* more listening, I think.

Finally got my computer hooked up in my new room and I'm just staring at my base stations trying to decide if it's even worth putting them up.

Pre-VRCDN this was prevalent in the scene! Everyone streamed through twitch and there were a lot more “Twitch DJ” types around, so people just used their systems to tip. Not unheard of for busy slot weekend DJs to take home a hundred bucks during a set. Worth VRC themselves replicating someday IMO.
