Is this a good time to mention that in college my History of Translation lecturer (Michael Cronin) told us that one of the first vernacular translations of The Illiad was into Irish, and the translator had to give the main characters dogs because in Gaelic society a free man had a dog

Over the past 20 years, Paris has undergone a major physical transformation, trading automotive arteries for bike lanes, adding green spaces and eliminating 50,000 parking spaces. Part of the payoff has been invisible — in the air itself.

Have my differences over the Green's policy in government but there's no doubt this was game changing. My teenage cousins taking these buses to GAA matches, rural elderly being independent again. And watch it get cut if theres downturn to protect road building projects #maybetoocynical #speirgorm

One of the very last things to go into the 2020 Programme for Government (at about 2 a.m. in the morning) was a commitment to triple Local Link passenger journeys. Huge push-back, we were told it was impossible to achieve. By the time we left government, numbers were up x5. If you build it.......
