There is a Russian adaptation of Pinocchio written in 1936 by famous sci-fi author Aleksey Tolstoy. It's called the golden key, and I've been rather obsessed with the Harlequin and Pierrot characters from a 1976 soviet adaptation. They look so good and contrast SO WELL. It's peak character design.
