Crumbling infrastructure & lack of water jeopardising govt plans for new homes. Privatisation of England's water prioritised shareholder returns. No new reservoirs, desalination plants, or national grid of water. Companies don't do national planning. Yet govts intoxicated with privatisation
‘We cannot magic up more water’: the supply problems putting housing targets in England at risk
Council leaders say crumbling infrastructure and lack of water are jeopardising government’s plans for new homes

I'm absolutely furious that facts and information like this are allowed on social media while every Reform MP is working so hard to spread misinformation and lies and stir up our gullible supporters who will believe any old bollocks.
Hours without a toilet break. Unsafe, dirty, inaccessible facilities. No access to sanitary products. From periods to childbirth to menopause, the rail industry is failing women train drivers. By not improving toilet access they're placing barriers in front of women who may wish to join the grade.
There is a simple solution to the “crisis“ in social care. Free cradle to grave healthcare, as the NHS should be. Paid for by the taxation of individuals & companies that can afford to pay.

2m pensioners live in poverty. 100,000 died in fuel poverty. So let’s go for the triple lock again…
Apparently, according to Steve Baker, former Tory MP, “the welfare state is chronically unaffordable due to age related spending”.
@bbcnews-uk-rss.bsky.social @itvnews.bsky.social @skynewsrss.bsky.social Can you please stop showing the distressing image of the crushed train driving cab, in which the driver has lost their life? @aslefunion.bsky.social
My thoughts and concerns are with everyone involved in the collision near Bedford. 💚💚💚
Back home from my final Aslef RMS Committee Meeting. I have worked with some fine comrades, we also got to present our former GS with a couple of retirement gifts and welcome him into the RMS. Solidarity all and take care. ✊💚✊
The sad ten year anniversary of the murder of Jo Cox is a poignant reminder of her words. “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.” She had a wish for a kinder, gentler world that I still totally subscribe to.
From @davidosland.bsky.social: I just want to say thank you to hard-working immigrants in Britain and the north of Ireland for everything they do. End of message.
On Newsnight millionaire General Sir Richard Barrons joins his fellow millionaires in demanding pensioners pay for defence…. "There's no point me having a glamorous, comfortable retirement if the country that I bequeath to my children is at great military risk"
Left: Nigel Farage, "None of you have been elected, none of you have any democratic legitimacy for the roles you currently hold" Right: Telegraph, "Farage wants US-style Cabinet instead of elected MPs"
Violent attackers are violent attackers, rapists are rapists, fraudsters are fraudsters. They come in all creeds and colours. And all must be prosecuted. Don’t let the likes of Farage and Reform get away with only publicising the ones that suit their own narrow bigoted agendas.
The reason we are all told why we contribute towards a state pension is to provide dignity in retirement, how’s that going?
And they are all having a go again at one of the lowest state pensions and the triple lock. It is currently around half the minimum wage Poverty is poverty and is sharing from the wealthiest to all poorest in society the right thing to do? Rather than trying to pitch young and old against each other
Safe journeys to all comrades travelling to the Aslef AAD 2026. Wish I could be there. I know Richy Doran as delegate for the RMS will be excellent. Keep up the great work you all do for the future of our union. Solidarity to all. ✊✊✊
Yeah – no more Tories! Other than Danny Kruger, Suella Braverman, Lee Anderson, Robert Jenrick, Nadine Dories, Sarah Pochin, Andrea Jenkyns, Jonathan Gullis, Jake Berry, Andrew Rosindell, Peter Bone…
Your vote is precious. Today millions of people across Wales, Scotland and England are voting in the hope that their choice will improve their lives. I hope it will. Politicians are asking for your vote; it grants power and removes it. Use it and remind them never to take you for granted.
Energy companies made £125bn profit from UK operations for 2020-25, fueling inflation, poverty. They get subsidies. During high winds, turbines are turned-off because the UK does not have adequate energy transmission and storage. Profits will rise from Iran war. Nationalize energy.

And here is the argument, once again, welfare not warfare. Why do they always think that it is the poor that should pay? Even with the triple lock pensions are half the minimum wage. And big businesses make huge profits while employees have to rely on benefit top-ups.
Blaming resident doctors for NHS waiting lists is like blaming the homeless for the housing market
