Watching Hadestown and I'm digging it, but how much of a movie it is is quite distracting. Like, No one in the audience could see what the guy in this screenshot is doing, on account of all the fog. That's no way to block a stage production!

Look, attacking Trump for this is all fine and good, but this is just the nature of missiles. You can fire them off much, much faster than you can build them. He wasted them on an incredibly stupid war of course, but any sort of war will result in missile stocks being depleted quite quickly

Having read 2 articles now by Emily Wilson about this film, my thoughts are that i don't give a single shit what she thinks about the movie outside her capacity as an Odyssey expert, and relatedly, I think she's a piss poor movie watcher whose critiques are naive and childish at best

This monologue is indistinguishable from a Donald Trump speech to me. It's uncanny. A bunch of anecdotes about what a guy he just made told him about how New York is a hell hole, and how much better it was in the 60's.
