That semi-native Terran and cycling centaur. "Hot" is: 40° - 50°C "Humidity" is: Wonderful!

Well the seemingly bi-annual twitter acct suspension has taken place for "Inauthentic behaviors". The only thing coming to mind is that I will 'like' posts. They encourage that. And in the same breath they see that an as "inauthentic behavior". They are not a serious social media platform.

An idea I had the other day about Halloween and drivers: Every neighborhood has a group of "pilots", or people who take over driving any car entering or leaving the neighborhood. They drive very slowly until they are at the home or out of the neighborhood. Just like ship-pilots at ports.

While I am currently in one single game of DnD (playing a human cleric) I do sometimes build new characters in my DnD-Beyond account. Such as the African-centaur-druid that's taken a few days to get to finally equipping her. Set her background as Guide, which has some nice equipment perks.

I hate how about once a year I get some kind of upper respiratory tract infection or 'something' where it takes a month to recover and lose all of that fluid build-up & production in the lungs. Because it is strongly advised to *not* exercise when your lung capacity is reduced. I miss bicycling.

One thing I don't have to worry about happening on BlueSky is being shadow-banned. A concept that should not exist on any social media platform.

I see on the various urbanist accts on twitter (and maybe here) that the trolls are already using the Spain disaster as a reason to not want trains. Sure. As if that happens every single day. It *does* happen every single day with cars.

How is it that in the present day where basically everything to do with billing is done with computers, that a medical-imaging bill from June of 2024 is only *now* being billed to me? I didn't even know it existed until I got a collection service email.

Even though I live in Houston, I was thinking today how homeowners will have to eventually accept the fact that if they don't allow small businesses into their neighborhoods their property taxes will become unaffordable. Or, infra will never be updated.

Imaging service sent an automated text to let me schedule an appt for next week. Seemed to work fine and was all set up. Just got a call to set up my appt *with the same service* and they had no record of the appt. How can a company NOT know what it's automated services are doing?

Spent all day at my clinical trial, so I'm dead tired. Only to get home to find that a scheduled power outage seems to have shut down our Internet connection. Our IT guy seems to be MIA (I know him, and think he might be sick from office-bldg a/c). Abysmal speeds right now:

A question for my urbanist friends: When roadway construction takes place in European countries, are the workers from construction companies, or are they government employees? Having watched video of the Netherlands building infra, it's always professionally-built in minimal time.
