Attention: Full episodes of #babylon5 are now available on the official B5 youtube channel. If you have not already watched the complete B5, now is the time. The greatest scifi show ever produced, now on the tubes. I dunno how @straczynski.bsky.social pulled this off. I suspect skullduggery.

Debate 101 snare question. Obviously few if any were out there searching for a MacGuffinless movie. They reacted to what was clearly a character story that didn't seem to be the same kind of thing they had seen before and thus felt fresh.

Just to be clear: I didn't create the B5 YouTube page. That was done through the Warner Bros. online division, from start to finish and all points in-between. I'm contributing to this effort, but it ain't my property or done at my initiative.

Not the point. There's no audience out there clamoring for MacGuffin movies, no petitions demanding more of the same, they try to support what's available because they harbor the hope of getting *good* stuff. And some dial out when they don't get it.

And while I'm here...the cover and first two pages of my short piece for Marvel's MARY JANE WATSON AT 60 issue coming out this Wednesday. I decided if that's the title, then by golly the story should be about Mary Jane at 60. Here's how it starts....

Just received hot-off-the-press copies of the special illustrated edition of HARLAN ELLISON'S GREATEST HITS, with art by Chris Weston, Jesus Saiz, Joe Quesada and Colleen Doran, with a hardcover like textured wood, AND the standalone book for I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM.

To be clear I've enjoyed all the Spider-Man movies. But for my money, this latest iteration feels most authentically Peter, and Spider-Man. So many comic movies have fallen into MacGuffin plots, looking for the code, the stone, the box, the sword...this one is all about what --

I just read Spider-Man Torn written by J. Michael Straczynski and illustrated by Pere Pérez. My whole idea of what this story is about was wrong. JMS and Pérez have both brought their A game to this, and I'm sad there's not more. 5/5 #comicsky #spiderman #marvelcomics

Sleeping In Light was a great finale but one thing I never fully got was what happened to Sheridan at the end. Was he truly dead? Or did Lorian somehow give him more life and take him "beyond the veil"?

And that scene in my first issue of Amazing Spider-Man where Spidey's walking down the side of a building and sees a guy making popcorn and they have a whole chat about what's good popcorn and talks him into sharing? Totally improvised by the characters.

For the same reason Alfred steps out of frame when the cameras start taking pictures of Bruce Wayne. Which is why there are only a handful of photos of me and Harlan, and those are mainly from when we were on the same panels. I was (and am) there to get shit done when it needs doing, that's it.

1 We've had constant glitches with Harlan Ellison's new books on Amazon, like the standalone paperback special edition of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream listed as an OPTION UNDER his prior audio book. Without a direct link you can't find it with a hunting dog and a Ouija board.
