If Badenoch becomes PM, she’ll last less time than Starmer.

Keen supporter of Living Wage Foundation The Foundation has had such success in reducing working poverty I am also a great supporter of hybrid working. All comments personal and nothing to do with my employer or the charities I support
This particularly incident will be forgotten but those failings will do for her in the end.
Badenoch's two biggest flaws are that she's nowhere near as smart as she thinks she is and is incapable of admitting error. Both well illustrated by this fiasco.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine steps back from being a Conservative council candidate following backlash
Is the crux of the advice: 'They join the Conservative Party and kinda go from there'?
In a post on X he says he’ll instead be advising the Conservative Party on how young men become radicalised
When you stake your entire reputation as UK Conservative leader on a Neo-Nazi: He quits because he can’t stand the heat so Badenoch gives him a job as a Tory adviser instead.
Ex neo-Nazi activist withdraws as Tory election candidate
It follows a backlash against the party's decision to pick Joshua Bonehill-Paine as a council candidate in Somerset.

completely aside from the nazi element, this is also the same as her disdain for fixing church roofs, isn't it?
Quite impressive to completely undermine your own defence and insult most of your party's elected officials in the same sentence.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.
Another upbeat energy article by Ambrose E-P in the Telegraph that also slaps the Tories over their green energy stance. archive.ph/Ypxmt
Trump: "Everybody saw the vandalism. All you have to do is look at the tape." (There is no tape. Trump is nuts.)
CNN is reporting munitions shortages influenced Trump’s decision to cancel the large-scale attack on Iran. Nothing to do with impending talks. It seems Trump has left the US in no position to fight a war.
The US and Gulf states have rejected the fee demand. They want Iran to reopen the strait and guarantee the safety of shipping and regional security before any sanctions relief or other concessions are considered. 2/2
We have stricter food protection laws in Europe than in the US.
Cornyn: "As to the idea it could be revived in the future, I think it's highly unlikely that could happen without the cooperation of the DOJ. And I think Mr Blanche gave us the assurances that it was dead and would not be revived and in this case we have no alternative but to take his word" 🙃
Once again Trump is doing exactly what he would be doing if Putin had grotesque photos of Trump in compromising positions.
U.S. has used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war: Reuters
The US has now used up 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during the Iran war, Reuters World News reports.
This place’s medium term survival (at this point) depends on X going badly wrong along the lines of the various incidents in the period just post EM’s takeover — note that *all* the big waves here (with the possible exception of the open to all wave) have occurred due to X related issues.
Also…and very importantly…people are absolutely kidding themselves of they think this platform will survive in its current form…it needs more people and that means a more heterogenous mix (which progressives should be in favor of).
No one has any superior rights here! And that’s a very good thing! It’s deliberately set up to be an idea of egalitarianism.
There’s this weird notion that social media platforms like Bluesky somehow belong to a particular faction / group of people by reason of longevity (say) or ideology. This is not true!
saying this not as a dig to Paul but as a general point, but it does worry me that we've ended up in a world where the two options are seemingly "leftist bubble" or "oh hey the nazis are here" - surely we should be able to have a politically heterogenous platform with tight rules on hate speech etc?
Wife started watching it and I'm in the room. Regrettably.
Liddle's ex-colleagues find it easy to defend his mainstream journalism as a lark But a conscious effort to ignore what his Millwall-Monkey stuff revealed."Even the Jews were allowed to smoke at Auschwitz" was reported. His "niggermeat, not wogmeat" comments + most virulent sexist threads were not
Not sure. Presumably they left her money as she survived.
A Russian couple I knew disappeared two weeks before the invasion of Ukraine, abandoned their extremely pricey London pad and only left a note for their 18-year-old daughter saying they’d be in touch.
The London report was a few years back but little is likely to have changed. It’s how the Russian intelligence services (and Chinese) operate.
In a report endorsed by the former head of MI6, the Henry Jackson Society said a staggering 50% of the Russians in London - 75,000 - were informants for Putin. Russia has many operatives across Europe.
A Paris court today rejected Russian television star Xenia Fedorova's appeal against a ruling that she must leave the country, a week after French authorities accused her of acting as "a conduit for disinformation campaigns" orchestrated by Moscow.
