MeshBlend & World Aligned Materials is too good! 🤩 Testing a workflow where I only have one material instance per surface type. That then goes on any mesh. Blending the seams between the meshes to create a seamless surface. Amazing to just play around with the variations! #gamedev #unrealengine

Ever noticed how Subnautica 2 has almost no seams? In the sand, on the rocks, in the cave walls. None! Check it out next time you are swimming around! 👀 Being able to say I had something to do with this game has been such an honor!

2 years ago MeshBlend was born! 🎂🥳 Not on purpose, but a random message on the Visual Tech Art discord server. @makkon.bsky.social was there, and something about his "introduce yourself" post piqued my interest. Amazed how many talented people I've met on online the last couple of years! 🤩

Most of the MeshBlend showcases I make are to highlight the blending. But in real-world use it's often used more as a "seam remover". Here are some amazing in-game screenshots of Beautiful Light using MeshBlend to make the world feel more cohesive! 🤩 #gamedev

How to make branches and decoration feel like one natural looking tree in UE5 👀 Use vertex color to mask out the seams. Then use MeshBlend to drive the blending between the different parts of the same mesh. #gamedev
