Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.

Let's all pretend it was a democratic senator who had been absent under highly suspicious circumstances for two months with no verifiable contact with anyone. I wonder what the GOP and McConnell would be doing now? Patiently waiting? Writing a stern letter? Going on the media to moan and groan?

Trump has already already made his mind up. Don't bother him with facts. Who are we to question his judgement just because the facts show something different? If Dear Donald says vandals caused the damage and Hearns was one of them, then dadgummit, that's who did it.

It’s a direct attack on rule of law from the highest levels, aimed at permanently ending US Constitutional democracy and imposing a dictatorship. Always has been. Anyone who tries treating it as something else—as if they’re dealing with mistaken impressions rather than lies—gets egg on their face.

Conditions aboard the Abe Lincoln are SO BAD that doctors fear mental breakdowns if they don't get to port soon. Moldy showers, food shortages, lack of SOAP ffs, and weeks of overtime have morale at a breaking point. Donald & Pete: YOU DID THIS! You started a stupid war with NO plan and no SKILL!

The only strategy Republicans have ever used is to do everything in their power to stop, dismantle or cripple social security whenever and wherever they can in any way they can, usually in dark rooms far from prying eyes, and deny that's what they're doing in public during election cycles.

Democrats have legislation that will make Social Security solvent for as far as the actuarial eye can see without cutting benefits. Where's the Republican proposal? It doesn't exist. - @whitehouse.senate.gov

Dollars to donuts they rediscover their dislike for deficits if and when the democrats get back in power and we have to pay for their spending orgy and once again we have to wipe up their messes. Once again, all we'll hear is their old refrain "we aint got no money".

BREAKING: Republicans are no longer worried about deficits and debt Bessent: "I'm not as bothered by it ... if '26 is flat to slightly up, this isn't wasteful social spending "

Boo hoo. He knew, or should have known, the tariffs were illegal and were going to have to be refunded eventually. As much as he wishes it existed, the constitution doesn't have a "because the potus wants to" exception to the rule of law. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Bessent: "Here at the Treasury, I had $168 billion of tariff revenues that we're gonna have to refund. So when the Democrats scream, "Oh, the refunds should go back to the American people!', well, the American people had it, it was in the Treasury and it was paying down the debt."

Blanche meeting privately with a convicted sex trafficker for over 9 hrs, for reasons unexplained then or now, but refusing to meet with her victims until he was shamed into a box-checking 30 minute meeting where he told them to "get to the point" is more than enough reason to send him packing.

Booker: "Ghislaine Maxwell is sitting in the lowest possible confinement after giving no information that helped us get one more investigation started and has been silent, and the man responsible for that we're about to make the attorney general of the US ... this is farcical."

It's the patented Collins Two-step Boogie she's perfected over the years to maintain an illusion of independence while shifting her votes from one position to another so she can pretend to not be one of Trump's most loyal politicians when it really matters.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social · 23h ago

The same old Susan Collins charade. As soon as a controversial nominee or a bill has enough votes to pass, she announces she will vote no when it doesn’t matter. She never casts a deciding vote against Trump. Now she will claim this shows how she is so “independent.”

12 states had their water systems compromised by a country we are at war with and instead of pursuing the culprits of the hacks, the FBI is more concerned over the nonexistent vandals of the reflection pool and investigating people who haverh3 nerve to criticize Dear Donald.
