i want to do a little ✨ ama about atproto ✨ in this thread. no question is too simple if you’ve been curious about atproto but don’t know much (anything?) about it, ask any question and i’ll try to explain it in my own words. (+ would love to hear from friends who aren’t very active on bsky)
Do not like it one bit that the big ol bluesky «view publication» button takes you to the homepage of said publication. confuses the hell out of me every time i'm expecting to be taken to the linked blogpost.
I've got an absolute beast of a blog post in the pipeline, but for now here's something stupid: dbushell.com/2026/07/06/b...
True. How do we get Bluesky to redesign the UX here? bsky.app/profile/ikbe...

After thinking about this question all weekend, I think my favorite candidate is the alchemical symbol for air: 🜁 It’s connotes both atmosphere and “transfer”. It’s a standard Unicode character. It references a capital “A.” And it’s very simple, which feels appropriate for a protocol, like 🌐 or 🛜.
We need an Atmosphere logo
Great day at Developers Up North Conference today, good talks all round but particularly loved the passion for producing high quality work. #DUNC26
Fun stuff from @younesjd.dev on modernising testing at #ReactSummit
Great stuff as usual from @infrequently.org on SPAs, MPAs, and UX at #ReactSummit
Super interesting stuff on P2P applications from David Mark Clements at #JSNation
Here's an easter egg in the new Lego Batman that I think all of you will REALLY appreciate. It's so good, I had to make a video.
After a couple evenings of ssh and struggling with network configs, finally sorted a personal PDS. Big props to @marque.at for the domain and @pds.dad for MOOver being the seamless parts of the process.

Please sign this open letter. You don't need to be from the UK. It is important to draw a line and clearly state that moving away from open source isn't the right answer to the incoming wave of security vulnerabilities. We need to ensure best practices, better tooling, and take care of maintainers.
The NHS is turning back on its commitment to keep its code open. We're asking them to reconsider. Would you join us?

I think I invented something. I believe this is possible on the Apple Vision Pro, but I haven't seen it done on the Meta Quest 3. I've been calling it "Egocentric Masking," but that's a little self-centered. It's a way to see your actual body in VR, instead of a pair of floating ghost hands.
