Coloradan. Loud talker. Soccer lady. Italian matriarch. Justice minded thinker and writer. Can’t quit won’t quit trash talking SCOTUS. Not necessarily in that order.

Once again, the right is openly admitting that the entire focus on trans youth is to ultimately ban all gender affirming care for adults. All the credulous reporters and institutions that helped launder this right wing project are responsible. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

This week on rePROs Fight Back, Jessica Mason Pieklo @hegemommy.bsky.social at @rewirenewsgroup.com talks with us about the latest developments at SCOTUS, including recent cases on birthright citizenship and conversion therapy, as well as Trump’s ousting of Pam Bondi, former U.S. Attorney General:

"Two Trump judges (Ryan Nelson and Lawrence VanDyke) striking down a California state law that prevented dialysis providers from price gouging patients on First Amendment grounds" is such a cursed sentence that the non-American mind cannot comprehend

A federal appeals court on Tuesday struck down as unconstitutional parts of a California law that limited the ability of dialysis providers to profit from patients who receive health insurance premium assistance from nonprofit charities.

NEW: A federal court paused a case by the Louisiana attorney general seeking to make it harder for people everywhere to get a medication abortion. While this current threat is on hold, the Trump administration is still laying the groundwork for new nationwide restrictions.

Casey Means’ Surgeon General confirmation hearing is tomorrow. Means holds a number of extremely disturbing views, including that hormonal birth control is “disrespect for life”. She isn’t a “fringe” or “alternative” healthcare provider. She is a person who blithely ignores scientific facts.

Minnesota faith groups sue DHS over access to immigrant detainees

It's at least the second lawsuit challenging the federal government's policy of barring faith leaders from accessing some DHS facilities.

It’s Xmas Eve and yet I’m still gonna be a little spicy. The fact that the first American pope is from Chicago matters because unmooring power and perspective from the coasts especially east coast is an imperative for building something new and better

Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @reuters.com

The Trump administration is attempting to force a new term for gender affirming care to call it "sex rejecting procedures." This term was literally made up this year by the far right group Ethics and Public Policy Center in a comment submitted in April 2025. It is now being used widely by HHS.

Screenshot of an Ethics & Public Policy Center (EPPC) webpage with the headline, “EPPC Scholars Submit Comment Supporting HHS’s Proposed Removal of Sex-Rejecting Procedures from Essential Health Benefits.” Below the headline is a graphic labeled “Engagement on Agency Actions,” showing a stack of books and a hand holding a pen. Publication date reads April 11, 2025.
