After all the times lately that big (and not-so-big) companies have been caught "accidentally" shipping AI slop placeholder art in their finished products, I am beyond happy to see Slay the Spire 2 fully embrace the glory that is MSpaint, as the Lord decreed back in the olden days.

Of all the demos I've tried so far, the puzzle game DEG is probably the scariest one. Before I'd even noticed, nearly two hours passed. It put me in the same kind of flow state Tametsi did a few years ago, which is both great and a little troublesome when you intend to try out dozens of games.

Man, crazy to think that after fifteen years we've finally caught up to Japan for the Trails/Kiseki games. What a ride. I still remember being blown away by Sky 1 on the PSP. Still really sad that SpacedrakeCF is no longer with us to see it though 😞

LEGO Pokemon? Oh boy, that's a match made in heaven... for scalpers. Poor kids that will never see any of these sets, as they're all bought up by bots and put up on ebay for ten times the original price.

With the free fly for Star Citizen starting today, I figured I'd give it a shot, see what the fuzz is about. I mean, surely there is a reason why people have given it almost a *billion* dollar this past decade, right? Barely a minute into the tutorial, I was softlocked due to a bug. So yeah.

Currently visiting a major christmas market in the low countries, and the sheer fucking amount of genAI slop in every. godsdamned. store. Even saw a 'painting' being sold for over 100€ How the fuck did we get to this point? Capitalism hohoho, fuckers.

Germ just brought it to my attention that Ubisoft is using AI generated imagery for the art in Anno 117: Pax Romana. This us utter shit Ubisoft. WTF did I just pay 90 bucks for if you can't hire actual artists??

whenever I feel adrift I think "more bookshelves in the house would fix me" and this is probably not addressing the root cause of what's going on but is also probably True

Man. Back when I read the City manga I was already pretty meh about it all, but I'd hoped KyoAni could elevate it. And sure, the production values are unreal. But good lord, the entire show is just so aggressively unfunny. Which is weird, since Nichijo regularly had me gasping for air.

After a lot of internal conflict, the intrusive thoughts won and I grabbed Victoria 3 since I like numbers getting bigger and I've been wanting to get into a meatier Grand Strategy game for a while now. I figured my hundreds of hours in Stellaris and Anno would've prepared me for this. It has not.
