Phil Collins on Trump’s uniquely abrasive style: “His whole manner is unattractive. Historically, presidents have been eloquent and elegant. Even if you don’t agree with them, you still respect them. But when somebody like Trump is as nasty as he is, you end up feeling dislike for him.”

"Media that suck up to Trump for business reasons (such as Meta and Google) need to realize that an anti-fascist movement is here and they need to get aboard." Something tells me that if Ds win it won't be widely interpreted as a major verdict on the future direction of US culture, as 2024 was.

There's a takeover of the American news industry going on, pushed by Elon Musk, the Ellisons, the Saudis and others. Democracy is impossible if the truth is buried under right-wing propaganda, so we've got to push back against this "media capture." My Stop the Presses newsletter.

Trump calls Natalie on stage, checks out her legs, calls her "perfect," then floats creating a reality show w/ her -- & other lowlights from his rally tonight in Nebraska (Including Trump saying of Iran, "Let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is very small price to pay")

I already see us getting a news cycle parsing through Trump's "let 'em take out Los Angeles" comments, with media folks straining themselves to give the most charitable interpretation of what he actually meant. But one thing's clear - that Nebraska crowd cheered on the prospect of LA getting nuked.

As I prepare to live-clip the Trump rally in Nebraska, reminder that today is 5th anniversary of PN & I'd appreciate your support. Paid subscribers make my work possible. "The WSJ put out a piece the other day that said we're almost a level of getting oil out of the Strait that we were at before the war started." What she didn't add is the WSJ also reported that attacks on ships have resurged, making that shipping a lot riskier again. www.wsj.com/world/middle...

My 13 yr old nephew just asked the scariest thing.. What if the billionaires/trillionaires deliberately want to gut the masses via war/hunger/famine/biological warfare… ‘culling the heard’, so to speak. Replace us normies with robots and keep the world to themselves?

Considering the White House is barring Politico from boarding Air Force One today, leaving it unable to fulfill its out-of-town travel press pool duties, it seems very likely that CNN is gonna get rejected again this week when its turn comes up (twice) in the TV pool. www.cnn.com/2026/10/05/m...

White House blocks Politico from Air Force One amid press access lawsuit | CNN Business

The White House is refusing to allow Politico on Air Force One on Monday, which means the news organization cannot fulfill its press corps pool responsibilities.
