This week's Heron release allows giving feedback to for feed generator about the posts it serves, as well as initial support for post drafts. It also improves scrollingand general UI performance in the app!

The latest Heron release now has advanced search. You can now choose to limit your search result to those with media,or just videos. If you do, you can also change the layout of the search results ☺️

The latest Heron release allows for downloading inference models that run completely locally on your device and work without an Internet connection. These models can be used to translate posts for world cup szn, and even vibe check a profile. I'm experimenting with more use cases for the future!

This week's Heron release is a small quality of life one. The Black Heron theme has been updated to be OLED black. The previous color scheme is now under the Pied Heron theme.

The cool thing about standard.site content is Bluesky clients like @heron.tunji.dev already do exactly this. If Bluesky adds the same support, you'll see all your blog posts from platforms like the ones mentioned above in a tab on your profile.

The latest Heron release adds a dedicated standard.site button to profiles, allowing you view a user's long form writing and their publications. It also makes it easy to subscribe to the publications you care about.

I'm mad I didn't hear about Heron sooner! It's an ATproto client for mobile that I'm really liking. It's "form over function" - slicker UI & animations, but lighter on features and *much* smaller than the Bsky app. heron.tunji.dev (And it started out on Android, always a plus in my book 👍🏽)

The latest Heron release supports viewing and uploading up to 10 photos. Also bc media uploads can sometimes fail, there's now a dedicated tasks settings item so you can see and retry all actions you've queued up so you always know what the app is up to ☺️

Today's Heron release expands standard site support significantly. A lot of the ideas in Alex's post below already existed in Heron, and now you can subscribe to standard site publications directly from the timeline! Check out the video to see Heron's integration 😊

we’re rolling out the first phase of the Bluesky + standard.site integration today! now, when you share an article from writing platforms that support standard.site (like @leaflet.pub, @pckt.blog, @offprint.app), you’ll notice the link card has more to it than a typical link card.

This week's (second 😭) Heron release fixes a memory leak that caused linear slow downs on each screen visited. To make up for it, Heron now has Rocksky support! Rocksky users now have their records on their profile 😊 🎶 🎵 🎸

The last few Heron releases have had a pretty bad memory leak. A fix should be out shortly. The leak is in the animations. Each screen you visit has its view heirachy kept in memory even when you leave it. So for each screen you visit the app would get slower and slower.

The latest Heron release adds a dedicated standard.site button to profiles, allowing you view a user's long form writing and their publications. It also makes it easy to subscribe to the publications you care about.

Also in today's Heron release is the ability to allow any timeline be adapted to media, grid or masonry grid layouts! Posts with no media will render an icon instead to let you know there's no media.

Your profile should reflect how you want to be seen, and show what you want it to show. The latest version of Heron allows you to sort your profile tabs, and show other atproto records on your profile like your custom feeds, or standard site docs and publications. Try it on Android or iOS!

The thing about Bluesky is that you can access the network without using Bluesky's client or platform. Instead of being angry at their decisions, I recommend looking for an app that does the things you want. For instance, I use @heron.tunji.dev which already has carousels, so I'm good over here.

Pssst! The first public beta for Heron is now available for the iOS on Test Flight! There are a few things to polish up like notifications, but if you want standard site integration, different viewing modes for media, or cool Heron inspired themes, give it a go! testflight.apple.com/join/8GxSwx1w

little affordances like dynamic profile shapes depending on original post, reply, and most-recent reply, make following threads easier. the ability to switch between linear and threaded conversation views while viewing a post.
