In a previous life, I copyedited and proofread textbooks for EMTs and paramedics. This year, I had the opportunity to revisit those EMS roots while developing this special report on cutting-edge resuscitation science! I'm grateful to the experts who were so generous with their time and insights.
New Special Report reviews the evolving science of cardiac arrest care, from changing epidemiology to new adjuncts like head‑up CPR, ITDs, automated CPR, ECMO, and vasoactive agents. Clear discussion of what’s promising and what remains unproven. https://ow.ly/4JXI50YhnoW
A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
Ever wonder about the #science behind public speaking anxiety? I wrote about it for the HuffPost! Big thanks to @noahmichelson.bsky.social.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy. I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.
My master's thesis was accepted by the Johns Hopkins #ScienceWriting program. After 3 years of grad school + a full-time job, having free time feels bizarre. See you soon, Baltimore! 🎓
I'm so excited to hear this! Second City, best city. #SciWri25

An incredibly valuable and absolutely sickening timeline. Thank you, STAT.
We’re tracking, day by day, what’s happened in the worlds of science and health.
There are trans Americans right now looking out at this world and wondering if anyone is going to stand up for them and for their simple right to exist. Well, I am. We are. We will.
By this time next month, my master's thesis will be submitted.

Trump’s Agenda Is Undermining American Science
Research funded by the federal government has found useful expression in many of the defining technologies of our time. This Administration threatens that progress.

The court ordered that NIH grant funding be unfrozen, so The Regime found a way around it. For NIH grants to be funded, a review panel must rank them. In order for a review panel to meet, they must post it on the Federal Register. Submissions to the Federal Register are now on hold “indefinitely”.
