I am queer, disabled, neurodivergent, in recovery for CPTSD, a hiker, a mother, a friend, divorced, a Lakers fanatic, and Muppets lover.

It is not our fault or failure that we can't regulate the emotions or behavior of everyone (or anyone!) around us. I know that conflicts w/ old programming that says everything is our fault & our responsibility, but trauma recovery needs us to get real about our limitations.

Don't give yourself sh*t for being inexperienced w/ self-care. For all our culture talks about it, we're rarely taught how to actually do it. Most of us are taught to be pretty sh*tty toward ourselves, & that self-love is cringe. It's a new skillset. Let yourself be a learner.
