Celebrate AOC's beautiful path to the 2028 presidency, as proclaimed by Andrew and Tristan Tate's lawyer. 'McBride saw it as a given that MAGA couldn’t afford to lose his clients, writing on Instagram, “AOC will be the next President without the Manosphere and Andrew Tate.” '

“Andrew Tate was a material participant in ensuring President Trump’s victory,” McBride says. “And if Trump doesn’t support him, and if the next people who are going to be running for office potentially are just like, yeah, down the river he goes, that young cohort of people will break with the Republican Party in the next election.”

McBride saw it as a given that MAGA couldn’t afford to lose his clients, writing on Instagram, “AOC will be the next President without the Manosphere and Andrew Tate.”

“If your superhero is betrayed by somebody,” he tells me, “the person who’s betrayed them, how can you support them ever again?”

Market theory goes like this: even the best of us can fall prey to selfishness and rationalization, so let's arrange society so people acting on their most selfish impulses end up producing benefit for all of us. That'll be easier and more reliable than convincing everyone to be more generous. 1/

A gigantic king, crowned and naked, sits on a lavishly curtained stage in a 19th century ballroom, before many ranked men and women dressed as gentry.

Cory Doctorow explains what a "reverse centaur" is and how the concept can help us understand new technologies in a socially responsible way. His new book is titled "The Reverse Centaur’s Guide to Life After AI: How to Think About Artificial Intelligence — Before It’s Too Late."

a) there are, like, single digit trans girls in sports in most states (sometimes literally one!), this entire thing is made up so that one girl who wants to play sports with her friends can't do it b) do not, under any circumstances, make policy based on angry sports parents

Gluesenkamp Perez: "At town halls, what I saw was the people who were the most upset had spent the last 12 years driving their girls to sports practice & they view their best shot of their student going to college as an athletic scholarship. So when we rush to moralize we miss some of the nuance."

Grimly amusing Dem machines think they deserve some sort of entitlement hierarchy. My entire life, everything has been moving backwards, politically, democratically, bureaucratically, judicially. You are all failures. You are presumptively part of the rot that must be removed down to the root.

A lot of discourse since Tuesday hinges on idea that some politicians are owed a seat, it’s their turn & it’s problematic to not back them. & that’s so odd to me — because not only you have to wait for 88-year olds to deign to retire, but then there’s someone else waiting who’s owed & you can’t run?

In the real world, enduring progress comes through non-zero-sum cooperation over time, and anyone who has worked in a professional context knows that nothing makes such cooperation more difficult than the presence of egotistical men convinced they are bold risk-takers possessed of masculine energy.

Entering month 6 of Mamdani's NYC & Robberies are down 11%, Retail theft is down 19%, & Murder is down 21%—all without "Adding 5000 new cops." Instead, he's invested in public safety free childcare, food, and better funded schools. Safer cities come from investing in people—not punishments.

The thing that infuriates me about this statement is that under AG Sulzberger, The New York Times has been the most useful propaganda partner setting the stage for Donald Trump, the Supreme Court, and Christian Nationalists to carry out an anti-trans and anti-Palestinian pogrom

President Trump can't bully journalists and media organizations he doesn't like into silence. Defending a free and independent press is critical to our democracy.

New report from IRENA confirms that "in prime solar and wind regions, hybrid solutions combined with storage deliver round-the-clock power at lower costs than fossil fuels." Renewables+storage = round-the-clock power, cheaper than fossil fuels, in an ever-widening set of geographies. Pretty cool.

If this was a blind ballot and you only saw a campaign's backers, which side would you pick? But this isn't a hypothetical. On the left are Xavier Becerra's backers. Tom Steyer's endorsements on the right.

My taxes are going to murder school children overseas and to let pardoned insurrectionist pedophiles get their hush money payoffs to victims, meanwhile, the papers of record want to let me know the real danger is the guy who taxes second homes in Manhattan to balance budgets and feed hungry kids.

Imagine being a billionaire in an unequal society where the system has been massively rigged in your favor, watching as ordinary people fall further and further behind and get more and more desperate, and thinking a slightly higher tax rate is the worst possible thing that might ever happen to you.
