I finished "A Psalm for the Wild-Built," [Monk & Robot #1] by Becky Chambers a few days ago—only 150 pages—and I have to say that was absolutely the cutest science fiction book I've ever read. The Studio Ghibli version of the book was playing in my head the entire time. 🥰

Eli Roth admits his new movie uses AI despite previously lying and saying the animation was hand drawn by him and a team of animators. If AI is so great, why do people feel compelled to lie about it? You’d think if he was proud of the results he wouldn’t have had to make up a fake story.

I am BEGGING news outlets to hire some actual experts on religion (and maybe some editors?) The world should not be forced to read headlines like this: “Lost sermon by Saint in Pope Leo-JD Vance debate found 1,600 years later”

Newsweek article cover showing a manuscript on the left and Jd Vance and pope Leo on the right. Headline reads: Lost sermon by Saint in Pope Leo-JD Vance debate found 1,600 years later”

Huh. Disney's copyright claim in graphic form. Shirt? Legally a Disney character. No shirt? Milne character in public domain. Literally: as long as Pooh wears that shirt, the Mouse owns him... ...which makes that below-caption more than a little creepy.

A three panel comic with one caption at the bottom.

The first panel shows Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse standing in the snow. Mickey has a coat while Pooh is unclothed and looks cold.

The second panel shows Mickey cutting the top hand of his coat off while Pooh looks om curious what Mickey is doïng.

The third panel shows Pooh now wearing his now-literally tradmarked red shirt and happy to be warm while Mickey wears his recognizable shorts, happy to have helped Pooh be warm.

The caption at the bottom reads, "Your greatness is not what you have, but what you give."

In the dark bedroom, I scan the bedroom with a small flashlight—trying not to wake my beautiful sleeping husband—looking for my griffin pendant. I resign myself to another. On the Metro, I reälized I had forgotten it too. I look down sadly and there it is, right there on my chest. Good morning.

Photograph of a copper pendant of a griffin, walking to the left with its head turbed back facing left and its wings outstretched, encircled within a rosetted border. The pendant rests on a black-painted wooden table.

Still can’t over the fact that the president of the United States just told an entire state to pound sand after getting cyberattacked by a foreign adversary because they didn’t vote for him and it was treated like a Tuesday lol

a thing i find continually remarkable despite a decade of this is how many people will make deals with the devil on the assumption that the devil is never coming to collect from *them*, despite overwhelming evidence that he demands his tribute daily and on television

i mean, this is what trump demands of people; he demands that they demean and humiliate themselves as publicly as possible in his defense. what i don't understand and will never understand is why so many people with other choices agree to it.

come on down and claim your "i did donald trump favors and i got stabbed in the back for the trouble" t-shirt, gulf state oligarchs, we set up a whole supply chain and warehouse network for these things, they're always in high demand, drop shipping couldn't keep up with it

Behind the scenes, Gulf countries are frustrated with what they see as a lack of a clear strategy from the U.S. as the war drags on, subjecting their territories to frequent Iranian attacks, people familiar with the matter said.

The thing is that agreeing to *anything* with Trump is agreeing to *everything* with Trump, whether you’re able to understand it at the time or not.
