The birth flowers of September are Aster (Asteracae) and Morning Glory (Ipomoea), symbolising wisdom and undying love. They also happen to be my birth flowers! I turned 30 earlier this month :)

An art-nouveau style illustration of a fair-skinned woman with blue-black wavy hair, clad in robes of shimmering blue. She is surrounded by oversized morning glories and asters, both blue in colour. She is surrounded by a flowing, vine-like framework, and the background is a mix of deep blue clouds and a starscape.

Dark meets light ⚫⚪ I’m hooked on painting chromatic aberration effects by hand. Even more fun than just hitting the filter button!

Faery vs Fairy - anyone know the history? Looks like the former is deemed 'pseudo archaic' somehow (I tend to use the latter) but that it usually feels more dark, not as sugary and light as 'fairy'. Which do you prefer? I used to prefer fairy, but I think my feeling is changing! Here's a Naiad.

watercolour painting of a Naiad with its head above a lily pad filled body of water, close up. It has green strange eyes and amphibious markings all over its face and long black hair.

Reaching for a star ✨ This one turned out christmassy and summery at the same time. Did you know that Christmas in July is a thing? Consider this my contribution 🎄

An art nouveau style drawing of a Black mermaid with micro-braided blue hair and an orange tail with blue-and-orange fins, against a coral background and shell-like framing.
