This is it, man. This is the good stuff.
My goodness, what an incredible moment. After Justin Verlander secured the final out of his career, Tigers manager A.J. Hinch came out of the dugout...to summon Verlander's daughter out to embrace her dad on the mound.
That last minute of Texas v Tennessee was awful. Both sides. Into the Sun you go.
the game between South Alabama and Kentucky shows up abbreviated as a War of 1812 rematch
Can’t the Secret Service get the President a Pepsi and pretzel themselves? When I get up I ask if anyone needs anything. Stop moving Mr President! lol
At home recovering and knocking off items from my “to do” list. Trimming down toilet bolts is next level excitement.
What’s the least amount of fun you can have on a Tuesday? 1) Dr appt for your worker’s comp dog bite 2) A visit to the DMV to transfer plates Really livin’ it up! Here’s the latest pic of my right ankle. 130lbs of bloodhound chompers. Woof
How exactly was that Indy receiver down? Still baffled by that overturn.
The postman getting bitten by a dog was maybe a tale of yesteryear. Nope. If getting bitten by a 130 lb hound named Grumpy doesn’t make me official I’m not sure what does. Ambulance & ER but didn’t stitch up my wounds. X-ray showed air had gotten to the plates & hardware in my right foot.
In 2010 was invited to do an ESPN Radio junket in Bristol. It gave me a real life “This Is SportsCenter” moment when we’re walking to the cafeteria and Barry is sitting on a bench in a suit smoking a cigar. He paused, nodded, said “boys!” and went back to smoking.
Barry Melrose has passed away. One of the true media evangelists for the NHL. Rest in peace. www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/...
I love how this graphic makes it look like they took Dinger out back and shot them in the head.
Absolute bummer at Wrigley but watching both Nebraska and Mizzou make the most of the delays and the karaoke was pretty fun. Good luck to Missouri and I hope Nebraska gets to resume this match. GBR always!
Interesting observation while at Vitalant donating platelets and plasma. There are currently 10 beds that are occupied. Eight male, two female. Come on ladies, step up your game! It’s actually quite awesome to see that on a Sunday. The donation side of the facility is almost full!
My sock tan game is strong. You should see my arm tan game. I wear gloves at work because it helps with gripping the mail. I should wear a sleeve while delivering mail because my arm tan lines at my wrist and just above my elbow are insane.
Back on that donation thang again. AB+ and they need platelets & plasma. Inject that cooling bag into my veins. Awww…
The clock ran out, so it was inconsequential, but there were 5 downs on the last drive of the West Alabama-Tuskegee game @jonbois.bsky.social
Damn. I was just told Noah Kahan tickets on the secondary market are at 3-4x the price of retail. Yep. I bought 4 at $86 per. Same section, higher row is going for $461 per. That’s over 5x. Jesus.
Damnit Russia. Leave me alone with my plastic shovel in this sandbox. I was happy here.
Just heard the news of Glen Hansard’s accident & passing. I am deeply affected by everything. Such a gentle soul & man by all accounts. I saw The Swell Season (Glen & Marketa Irglova) at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in 2008. That beautiful music, soul & cheeky grin. Godspeed. Say It To Me Now
The behind the scenes team at 9News having some wit and playful story placement did not go unnoticed by me. Might I add, that would been some Next level story placement I have come to expect from @kylec.bsky.social
If I ever pivot from making a music podcast to a decades-long campaign of starting imperialist wars abroad while subverting democracy and removing civil rights at home, you have my permission to say "I'm glad that bastard's dead" when I die.
We all have a few flaws that our loved ones would probably rather not have dragged up in the hours and days after our death. That's not the same as devoting decades to pure malevolent evil.
If I have to die ever (still looking for a loophole), I would *hope* the median reaction to my death would be along the lines of "oh that's a shame. I quite liked him." That will be the median reaction to most people's deaths. "Don't speak ill of the dead" is for those people, not monsters.
