The Dink: I think ultimately this movie needed either Nancy Meyers or Alex Winter - you have to be smarter than Sean and have visual sense, or you have to treat it at face value. Still, Sean wrote it, so 10 stars. I laughed, I cried, it's tremendous

I've always loved this film, but it's based on a sprawling, magnificent novel that simply can't be condensed into two onscreen hours. There are 200 speaking characters! Redford had no choice but to shrink the scale, and the result is . . . small.

Watched John Lechago's Bio-Slime, having never heard of him before his untimely passing. Really weird film in conversation with art history, horror history, and taking place in an honestly smutty milieu. Can't say I've seen anything *quite* like it. Poor guy. Rest in peace.
