I have the radical idea that we SHOULD pick a side in injustice, because failure to choose a side means siding with the oppressor. When I look back, I want to be proud that I didn't waiver in my commitment to my neighbors and my country. If that means some joker calls me partisan, FINE. 7/?

Four years ago today, Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, putting lives in danger and undoing generations of hard-fought progress. Women should be able to make their own health care decisions, and we have to keep fighting until all Americans have that right again.

Just to give the TL;DR on this one: *The* main purpose of the EO is to move funding priorities and decisions away from experts and career professionals over to political appointees. With the ultimate power held by Vought / OMB.

This is very very big. Like a big deal and massive cuts. These can’t even be seen as budgetary since you don’t get much savings in the context of trillions budget. They want the US out of R&D out of science research.

I am reviewing a simply amazing paper from a relatively young US-based lab, which is in danger of shutting its doors later this year. My emotions are all over the place. The fact that this does not uniquely identify the lab I’m referring to just deepens the tragedy of this moment in US science.
