A note on posts about the diversity of sex and sexuality across biodiversity: these posts are not legitimizing the existence of LGBTQ+ folks. They are celebrating the new appreciation for biodiversity that social progress has allowed. LGBTQ+ folks exist and need only exist to be legitimized.

The Trump administration is dismantling a $368 million deep-ocean monitoring network 900+ sensors tracking climate currents, fishery health, ocean carbon absorption, and coastal flooding along the East Coast. Ships go out in June to start pulling it up. Congress funded it twice after Trump

Yesterday helped to prove one very important thing to everyone, the orange felon could very well commit genocide if he wanted to and the fascist republicans in Congress would not only refuse to do anything to stop him but they would help him do it. That’s where we are.

This is what happens when 77 million people take leave of their senses and put a manifestly unqualified, unfit, mentally ill narcissistic man-child in charge of the country and the world's most powerful. military. This is what happens when the media 'bothsides' election coverage.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

To clarify: the helicopters are not the implausible part of this proposal. And the rest of the technology is not necessarily impossible, but 2028 is absurd and it's completely unclear why this should take priority over sample return or the dozens of other fully planned activities now on hold.

NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter completed 72 historic flights since first taking to the skies above the Red Planet.

The number of academics in the Epstein Files is staggering (and disappointing, to say the least), but not all that surprising. Some of these are one-off meetings or brief email exchanges. Some are years of continual activity, communication, and visits. Truly gross.

Academics vying for a spot in Epstein‘s world. There are so many. I feel the need to make a thread, so I don’t keep confusing them. 1/

Jack Horner being in the Epstein files is not something I had on my bingo card for 2026.... Horner seemingly visited Epstein's ranch multiple times, including apparently with a student.

Email from Leslie Groff to Jeffrey Epstein
Subject: Jack Horner to Ranch
"Jack Horner says to please tell you he would love to see your ranch and he would be abailable to come any day after July 25th."Email from Lesley Groff to Jeffrey Epsetin
Should I check in with Jack Horner? He believes hens to leave for the ranch on July 26 (2 weeks from today). Do I need to tell him plans are in a holding pattern?

Jeffery Epstein responds:
delay him one day

Lesley Groff responds:
Another tid bit! JE is asking me to delay jack horner one day! So this would be an arrival of July 27 depart 29... I have emailed Jack to aske if this would work with his schedule.... :)Email from John Horner to Jeffrey Epstein 6/29/2012

Hi [redacted] Since i don't really know how long it would take to get from Albuquerque to the ranch and visa versa [sic], and don't know how I'm to get there (would someone be picking me up or should I rent a car) it would probably be best if you just booked the flight for me. Delta Airlines connecting through Salt Lake is the most convenient for me. My official name and frequent number [sic] is:
John Robert Horner
Delta # [REDACTED]
The geology maps are perfect.

Two more students from Liam Ramos' school are now in ICE detention, joining their mother who was detained first. The school principal "said the boys cried when he told them what was happening and were frightened and asked to hold a school nurse’s hand when they walked into the Whipple Building."

“We had to deliver them to a detention center,” principal Jason Kuhlman said about the second grader and fifth grader.

Thread breaking down footage of federal agents disarming, beating, and THEN shooting a man multiple times. He had already been disarmed and then was shot multiple times. Even after he was still on the ground, agents shot at least five more times. This is murder. Again.

Federal law enforcement agents shot and killed a man in Minneapolis on Jan. 24 according to local police officials. DHS told Fox News that the man was “armed with a gun”. A video of the shooting appears to show that a gun was taken from the man before the first shot was fired. x.com/BillMelugin_...

All NSF SBE DDRIG solicitations have been archived and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Grants currently submitted will be processed, but as always, chances of funding remain very low. This means anyone aiming for the upcoming deadline will not be able to submit. 1/3

This article is a reminder that "abolish ICE" isn't just about the agents now in our streets, but is about a sprawling carceral system that must be dismantled completely. There must be consequences for politicians who try to spend a single dollar more on this. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
