Sometimes I forget NYC has more than 4 boroughs but then I get emergency notifications for a place allegedly called "Staten Island".
It's come to my attention that the published version of Thomas & McDavid 2026 says the legendary King Arthur, after whom we named our genus, comes from "British or French" mythology when it should read as British AND French. And this is how our manuscript is written.

WIP of a couple of the more famous inhabitants of the Triassic Chinle Formation, about 210 million years ago. Coelophysis (bottom) was an early predatory dinosaur, but despite appearances, Effigia (top) was more closely related to crocodiles. Would be fun to depict the entire fauna, eventually. 🐡

Paleoartists really should stop shrink-wrapping theropods. Not just because it's unrealistic, but because dinosaurs sealed in plastic will asphyxiate.

What sets apart extinct species from still-living species? After doing years of palaeontology research, I can confidently tell you that extinct species 'roamed the earth', while living species just kinda, you know... walk normally. 🌏🌐🦕
