I was born at a very early age and now I'm here. Some things happened in between, but they're probably not important.
I've got some paperbacks from the seventies that are falling to bits - the fact that this book is 540 years old and looks near mint is pretty bloody impressive.
What’s one of the oldest objects you’ve seen that genuinely made you stop and stare? We’ll go first: a copy of Homer’s Odyssey in Ancient Greek, printed in Venice in 1488 that we got to take a look at today 📚

If I want to hear virtually any song at all I either fire up my iTunes library or look it up on YouTube, I don't have to rely on The Chart Show (great, but only one hour a week) or Radio 1. 12-year-old me would've LOVED looking up all the stuff Smash Hits was parping on about that fortnight.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
All those brilliant barmy uncles. I learned an awful lot and it never felt like school.
I just want to thank my old teachers. Particularly Mr Ball (maths), Mr Hart (art), Mr Wolff (physics), Mr Bellamy (biology), Mr Pyke (chemistry) and Mr Lunn (metalwork)
This is worse than when I was a kid and on the first day of my six-week summer holiday all the shops would be putting up BACK TO SCHOOL posters.
@festivevibes.bsky.social The Range is now starting to put out their Christmas stock!
I wish they'd take mine off! Disability humour is often very dry and very dark. There's also a big 'No, *you* can't say that' factor when able bodied people say "You can't say that". I'm a cripple, I am medically crippled. I can say it, you can't. This is my favourite disability humour.
My answer is LOL ROFL (dickbrain) The terminally AI-pilled can't even *imagine* some people have *never* asked stochastic parrots to cheat at their job for them.
Just got a refund of £2.65 from Avanti West Coast after the train I was on got delayed at Euston for 27 minutes while they literally turned it off and on again to reboot it.

Singles collections - *all* the singles to that point, even the flops and double A-sides, all in chronological order. Best Of / Greatest Hits - see below, but I've never liked those titles because a) they're lazy options and b) basically inaccurate (Blur's Best Of omits Popscene, FFS).
A musical hot take: A Best Of or Greatest Hits should not be more than 12 songs. Double discs, an absolute no, unless you are honest and call it a collection or folio or something
Iggy Pop's Lust For Life at the start of Trainspotting. That film knew how to use its soundtrack.
Name your fav use of licensed music in a soundtrack.
Quite impressive to completely undermine your own defence and insult most of your party's elected officials in the same sentence.
It's OK for criminal ex-neo Nazis to run your bins is a hell of a line.
Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI
I propose we send Elon Musk to the Moon with a hoover and a dustpan and brush to clear up his mess. I am not necessarily proposing we bring him back, though.

Cinema operators must be weeping when they see these videos, knowing how much money they're losing on food and drink sales because so many people are going fully in character as Spider-Man.

again, if i had a calculator that gave me the wrong answer one (1) time, i would throw it out and never use it again and could probably bankrupt the company by simply telling people what happened
Gotta love the “or stocks” part. Like Gemini realized its first answer was nuts so it tried to wedge in a better one.
This is Massive Attack's response to what happened in Singapore, posted on their Instagram page. Good on them.

I'd rather play Lil Louis's French Kiss instead of the Wedding March and believe me, I NEVER want to do that.

Let's see if I remember my HMV price sticker decoding skills... Long number relates to the bar code. Artist & song - easy. Sing = single. LS = 12". C = new release / chart. V3 = date code (V- August, 3- 2003). 309 = the specific HMV branch. Number = item catalogue number. 106 = supplier code (BMG).

I see Rod Liddle has died. Apropos of nothing, here's my poem "You Put the Fun in Funeral."
Today reminds me there was a UK journalist who died and received fulsome tributes from many others. It was considered the height of rudeness when some pointed out none of the tributes had mentioned he'd killed his wife. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ka...
