worth remembering that a large part of the black voting electorate is what you might call the first VRA generation — people who would have been the first in their families to turn 18 with the actual right to vote — and that their parents/grandparents lived through jim crow

yeah, so, i think Bluesky may be kind of structurally blind to exactly how mad the organs of Black politics in the South are right now

the sloppers aren't going to stop until they've crowded out everyone who isn't slopping like them, until they've drowned all the signal with their noise. we have to fight back because the alternative is to just let them have *everything* we value and if you ask me that's not a fucking option

idk man, i just think we can't let the sloppers win and take all our spaces and all our hobbies and all our joy from us. we gotta fight back, and if we have to make our own new communities that ban slop to replace old ones that didn't have the backbone to do it, then that's what we gotta do

Starting off this month with a lil reminder: NNN is a NONSENSE challenge with zero benefits. On the contrary, in fact. Aside from being generally uncomfortable, doing NNN screws with your mood hormones on top of doing serious damage to sexual health, with degraded sperm quality and prostate cancer.

trans guys giving themselves fun and cool names is always like the butt of a joke and like "how i knew you were trans" but like. we are bringing back boy names that aren't michael. there used to be boy names other than john paul george and ringo. we believe in better for the world

do not funnel your grief over this death into trek and x-men merch, paramount & disney dont need your money. go to plays, give to charities, vote for candidates who will fund public art, and you will make it possible for people like patrick stewart to exist and keep existing. a rising tide lifts all

If you want more Patrick Stewarts, then you publicly fund the arts and learning programs, so that working class kids can find their way into making a career in them.
