We live in a democracy. If an elected leader is suddenly afraid of his own voters, then maybe that’s a signal he should step down and walk away.

Maybe the question is ... How do keep everyone and Nova Scotia safe from Tim Houston?
Imagine being this disconnected from the lives of others and then making $107,000 a year as a representative of people.
“You get three jobs, you get five jobs. You don’t sleep; you make money, you save it, and you figure it out,” Purdy said. “That’s where I come from with these things.”
Imagine a world where angry white men, who don't know what they are talking about, weren't given a platform.
I'm not sure "Local man invents unverified pseudoscientific reason to malign bike infrastructure" merits a news story.
Credit to sean_macgillivray MicMac rights association treaty members organizing against raids by the RCMP attributed to changed legislation from Premier Houston in #NovaScotia rocking out across from the RCMP in Kentville with lyrics changed and making songs about weed 🤣 so good 😆😏🔥
I lived in Romania shortly after the fall of the Iron Curtain. It was rumored that the Securitate could remotely activate the microphones of any phone to turn it into a listening device. That was chilling.
1/ Right now, a bill called C-22 is moving through Parliament. It would let police pull information on who you talk to, when, and where, all without a warrant. It's at committee this week. 🧵
This is such a simple easy action to take. Hits them where it hurts most - the ballot box. actionnetwork.org/forms/ns-bud...
NS Budget Vote Pledge

“What you need to know and what you need to share with your investors and your rich friends who plan to come in and develop projects that will cause harm to our lands and waters, the people of Nova Scotia have had enough and we will not allow you to cause harm to our homeland.”
Cops should never be referred to Restorative Justice. When they do anything wrong/illegal while carrying out their duties, it it is an abuse of high level power. And SIRT doing this, is another example that they exist to protect cops.
An unnamed Cape Breton cop will go through the province's restorative justice program, rather than face charges and a trial, after an investigation revealed he stole from a Glace Bay home while executing a search warrant, says a press release from SIRT spokesperson Khalehla Perrault.
1. Pretend you care about the people .2. Listen to the people where no one else is present/in secret. 3.Cherry pick what feedback works for you. 4. Present cherrypicked feedback as the voice of the people. What a champ.
I’m sure the facebook comments on this are going to be totally normal, right? 🙃
Tim Houston will be holding a presser this afternoon to announce that the arts contained fentanyl.
Beyond the ghoulish Houston cuts, is the massive list of propose legislation. The breadth, the reach and level of detail is astonishing. Years in the making??? No stone unturned in his plans for singular, centralised power. Go to the Rally!
Lisa Lachance - we should understand every bill we pass . We are legislators .
Sitting at the legislature . I think John Lohr is a day away from owning HRM.
Rally up! He really is trying to break our communities so he can frack, mine, deforest the f out of this place. He’s working fast , so must we!
We should cut HRP and give Halifax Fire an increase.
Potential savings of up to $2.5 million in 2 departments; HRP and Halifax Fire. They’ll vote on them all separately.

I think we all agree that the amazing journos @halifaxexaminer.ca are once again providing us essential info , including no paywall articles, at this pivotal time. Maybe we can use our no increases in taxes to send them some $$$$.

Please Note Date Change!! Houston is not even trying to hide his grand plan. 1. Run our economy into the ground. 2. Save it by destroying, extracting, exploiting our lands and waters. This is going to be a pivotal legislative sitting.
They still are stuck with Trump and Gretzky and we aren’t.
