The ship on the other side is the Le Maillé-Brézé (D627), completed in 1957. The ship in the foreground is either Le Clemenceau (R98), completed in 1961, or Le Foch (R 99), completed in 63, but L'Aquilon (North Wind) was only operational from an aircraft carrier until the end of 63. #NavalHistory

The SE-201 ‘Aquilon’ was a Sea Venom built under licence by SNCASE in France in 1952. It was the French Naval Aviation’s first jet fighter. This British aircraft was very elegant. © DOMINIQUE GONOT

1 According to the "Navy Bulletin," the Tatsuta departed Sasebo on August 1st, was at sea as of 10:00 AM on August 3rd, and was anchored in Saiki on August 4th, meaning it arrived in port sometime on August 3rd. however, there is no indication of flagship status while she was underway.

The concept of reincarnation into another world is clearly rooted in ideas of *samsara* (the cycle of rebirth) and karma (cause and effect). That is why the protagonist is able to reincarnate—not simply because they were hit by a truck, but because they were struck while saving someone else.

The Emotion Engine@emotion-engine.bsky.social · 5d ago

Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
