I've been noticing that established comic writers have been taking on multiple franchises at once, and I don't think it's a coincidence. As great as each announcement is, it also feels like an increasingly loud statement on how absurdly expensive things have become for those of us who make comics.

Over the past few years between my yuri and fanfic obsessions ive discovered that as much as i love powerful thoughtful resonant works of art, i LOVE pulp silly nonsense hahaha. Its so fucking stupid in the way i love and cant get enough of. And most of them end up super heartfelt anyway. I love it

Talking with younger queer people is so wild. Like just how knowledgeable and fucking bold they can be. Like hearing how casually they discovered it or how much they get on me about correcting people misgendering me. Being queer is still scary but theres less of that fear of getting assaulted
