Essex by birth Norfolk at heart, I love the great outdoors, enjoy walking 🥾, amateur 📸 , volunteer locally. Completed Couch to 10K & raced NYD 🏅 most likely at Parkrun on a Saturday morning.

My plan to get the 🚌 #Parkrun & run home was thwarted,it went MIA🤷🏻‍♀️ Ran home to get the car, arrived feeling rushed, spent mile 1 chatting to a lady from my home town. 1m 14s off last week💪thanks cooler weather. Unofficial milestone: 50th here 🥳 A rare photo with the RD #Parkrunday #RebelliousHope

When you’re driving down single track country lanes in the middle of nowhere and this bloody thing goes off - I thought I’d disabled them 😡 I seriously thought my car had gone very wrong and was alerting me to something! It made me jump out of my skin!

Current position 😎 Sat here in a breeze under the shade of a Chestnut tree. Knowing my luck there’s something rare & remarkable in the tree right behind me 🙄😆 Much cooler than my lounge this afternoon 🥵 Never one for conventional days off 🤩

Tomorrow there will be a solar eclipse when the moon will pass in front of the sun! If you didn’t get your solar glasses in time, here’s a video on how to view and a map with (UK) times on when to see it! Don’t look at the sun without proper protection!!

NNNS are saddened to hear that Carl Chapman passed away on Friday. Carl made a massive contribution to the Society, as a Trustee, Chairman & through the creation of the Liaison Committee (which he also chaired)- a body that helped strengthen links between NNNS and other local wildlife charities. 1/x

A man wearing a brimmed hat is smiling. In front of his face is a Purple Emperor butterfly that is perched on the end of a grass stem.

Week 66 of my streak:bus 🚌 to Cromer & run back🏃‍♀️I’m really growing to love this route. Road closures for water leaks & electricity issues safely negotiated. Thankfully cooler, determined not to go out to fast-pace was better & it felt easier. Not much walking💪 Must be the new socks 🧦 😆 #RebelliousHope

Imidacloprid and Fipronil, two of the chemicals most commonly found in flea and tick treatments for pets, are so toxic to fish, insects, bees and other pollinators that they've already been outlawed as agricultural pesticides across the UK and EU.

This day August 8th (1942) the US 817th Aviation Engineering Battalion took over Renfrew Farm in Essex to begin construction of Stansted Airport. This was just one of 15 airfields built in Essex in the space of 20 months. Its amazing what can be done when need arises.
