Even though I’ve been working remotely for the last five years, I still can’t bring myself to look at my phone while I’m working. It just feels wrong. I’ll answer a phone call if it’s important, but texting or scrolling completely breaks my focus and throws me off for the rest of the day.

I realized tonight why losing a work contract hits me so hard. At 19–20, I was homeless, couch surfing and sleeping in my car. It was one of the hardest times of my life, and I think every contract ending brings back that fear, even though life is different now. I have a fucking screw loose.
I’m going to Iceland in a few weeks and I am not in the correct mindset to travel or wanting to travel right now. I hope it changes before then.
