I'm proud of my self-restraint this morning. I was watering my front garden and a man walked up and said "Hi. I'm a Jehovah's Witness. Do you read the Bible?" My nozzle was on the Jet setting, but I politely sent him on his way without a shower. It's hard not to be cranky in this heat and smoke.

I love camping at Bulltrout Lake in Idaho, though I have been there since the Wapiti Fire. It's hard to get one of the best campsites there, so I get on a notification list when people cancel. No surprise, folks are canceling like mad after the mudslide closed Hwy 21 (its back open). But I can't go!
