With an annual income of 185,432, Police Chief Rex Ingram is Caldwell's second-highest paid employee. And, as part of a settlement agreement, the city has agreed to pay out his salary — eight times over — to resolve a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former officer. The grand total? $1.5M.

One reason I hate death penalty cases is that capital punishment is incredibly stupid and irrational. It's cruel, expensive, and serves no deterrent effect. It's rarely imposed, except against a tiny minority of unlucky defendants—and in those cases, racism almost always plays a role. Just end it.

Idaho folks: if you are in Valley Elmore, Boise or Ada counties, you can vote for judge. I highly recommend Jeff Street. It’s a nonpartisan election, so it’s on every ballot.
