So many concerns on the latest ‘watering down’ of the proposal to curb jury trials. Excellent piece from Joanna Hardy-Susskind giving real examples of cases to show why there are still issues and this really isn’t the victory some, particularly the media, are spinning it as. #JusticeNeedsJuries

Be under no illusion: this is a significant victory for everyone who stuck their neck out and defended jury trials, day after day, clause by clause. But it is not a comprehensive victory. Magistrates should not be allowed to send people to prison for two years.

Avg GDP growth 1945-79: 2.8% Since then: 1.6% And this apparently "broken, economically stagnant" basket case kept its AAA status right through the Winter of Discontent We lost it under Cameron, and it fell again under May, then Johnson, and then Truss: i.e. the whole time Clarke was in govt

So… I’m going to say it. I feel very uncomfortable about some people pitting the young vs old on the whole state pension triple lock issue. As a parent to young adults, I recognise how very hard it is for them today. Saw a post on FB of a pensioner saying their personal tax allowance should be £18k

Here's Rupert Lowe MP's payments from X Corp over the past year. This man is making serious cash from Musk's platform. Payments surged over the summer, during UK 'unrest', and when Musk was frantically re-sharing Lowe's posts... Bleak, lucrative work if you can get it.

Line chart plotting 21 payments from X Corp to Rupert Lowe MP, as declared in the Register of Members' Financial Interests. The x-axis runs from 3 September 2025 to 16 September 2026; the y-axis shows the value of each fortnightly payment in pounds, from zero to £12,000.

Payments run between roughly £1,100 and £2,200 through late 2025, rise gradually through spring 2026 to around £3,000–£3,800, then jump sharply to £11,724.97 on 10 June 2026 and £10,265.50 in July. From there they fall in five consecutive steps — £4,412.76, £3,126.35, £2,885.36, £2,542.04 — to £2,413.89 on 16 September 2026, a fall of 79% from the June peak.

Two things worth carrying with the graphic whichever version you use.

The July point is marked with an asterisk because the register gives its received date as 7 August 2026 while recording it as registered on 15 July. Plotted it at the likelier 7 July.

Good. Now arrest those who were with him for conspiracy, and then arrest those who tried to set fire to a hotel for arson. And then proscribe the group as a terrorist organisation. Which is what you are if you use violence for political ends. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Absolutely this ⬇️. Hostile foreign actors are stirring the pot & funding circles of U.K. thugs. But let’s not forget once they’re agitating & behaving criminally the Govt/law enforcement have a duty to condemn & deal with them swiftly on our shores. To be effective it needs a double-edged sword.

Great to hear the PM say “We are going to be much prouder in standing up for our values and the rule of law” re foreign information warfare. I wonder if he or the Home Secretary might consider doing the same when it comes to masked vigilantes shutting down infrastructure and harassing the RNLI

This should have been strongly condemned by the PM & Home Secretary the first weekend it started, with extra emergency power given to law enforcers. Instead we were told the racist thugs had “legitimate concerns” - batshit crazy and totally out of order. Burnham & his cabinet need to grow spines!

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

This week on his TV show, Nigel Farage laughed at a clip of a woman in tears because of the racism she’d experienced. “I can’t stop laughing,” he said. When people tell you who they are, believe them. And then don’t vote Reform.

Absolutely this - the media and pollsters didn’t get enough flak in this #donorsting - unsurprisingly the media just pushed the obvious story on Reform. A few scapegoats thrown under a bus, and all is well! Except it shouldn’t be. I believe these polls & media lit the torch of hate on KS/RR.

British journalism and polling are both utterly implicated in the Farage funding scandal iandunt.substack.com/p/british-jo...

And this is what Reform idiots are going to push while throwing their toys out of the pram. Do not let them. The funding is NOT the same. But it does tell us donations in politics need urgently cleaning up. Many of us have said it for years. And now it’s all hell breaks loose… 🙄 #NotSurprised

If you see this graphic floating around, do not believe it. Fact checked: Since 2021: Reform has taken £110M not £74M. Since 2024: Reform £113M, Labour £57M & Tories £54M. Reform has out-raised both combined!

The retrospective element of the Bill was discussed earlier in the yr. But as usual, Reform & Dubai Dick are barely in HoC & have no idea about the rules & regs they’re meant to abide by (or may have to moving forward). When the public knows & he doesn’t, it just shows his ignorance. Embarrassing.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cr... Tice serving up his usual lying bullshit - he's known about the Bill since Feb of this year and specifically about the retroactive element since it was accepted as an amendment by the gov't in July - a full 2 months ago.

100% — no political compass, no strategy, just reacting to whatever happens next. Unsurprisingly, no real progress either. Fits perfectly with Burnham’s habit of tinkering around the edges with minor, populist crowd-pleasers instead of tackling the difficult stuff.
