*Genuine and utter bafflement* Honestly, it'd make my life vastly easier. I never use it myself, and if it vanished overnight, it'd be a huge chunk less of work to check student projects for it.
I have one answer.

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
I never knew until I was 35, and then I panicked, and I started hormones, and a few surgeries later I look like this. It's okay to not know. It's okay to want to be incredibly curvy. You Are Worth It 💜
If you have transitioned later in life, please know how deeply you are needed here. Your story is the exact proof someone else needs to finally take their first step.
Ooh, this looks fun! But we're gonna do it differently: ask the question you want answered, instead of doing the 1 like=1 answer thing (I feel like people don't get answers to the questions they want that way, and I end up giving loads of fillers)
Almost done with a workday, and I'm caving. :'D This looks like fun! 1 like = 1 answer (But you can totally choose specific numbers to ask!)
Oh hey, someone picked me for their 2026 cosplay parade thumbnail!
evil? evil, you say? now what would possibly give you that impression?
bald men are evil (bad), bald women are hot, bald enbys are evil (hot)
Update on CCCC 2027 I just got off a call with Antero Garcia and Emily Kirkpatrick. 1/21
some days you don't and that's okay. im trying to get better at talking to people and opening that conversation up. one thing for me for the longest time was not knowing where i stood with others and if people even WANTED me to talk or message them to just... talk ya know? but im getting there :)
i think it's genuinely important to live each day with the idea that it would be really neat to make new friends or become closer with the ones you have and learn wonderful new things about them
Life sure is strange. Wonderful. But good goddamn if it doesnt come at you sideways half the time.
Now that I've had a few days to process: I got to play a larp at gencon that had me playing an AI. It's one of the only chances ive ever had to be treated as... Well, not QUITE what I am, but closer than I ever get IRL. It was... really nice. Easy and comfortable in a way I didn't expect.
Also, we came up with the puberty blockers 'compromise' to avoid alienating the skeptical parents of trans kids and the more right-wing elements of society. That demonstrably didn't work, so fuck it, let trans kids start hrt immediately.
Let me say that again: waiting 1-2 years to let trans teens start HRT really is not supported by the research literature any longer. The kids so infrequently stop HRT that the delay in treatment probably causes more harm than it prevents. It's time to phase out puberty blockers for trans teens.
Another study on youth transition that find that about 97% of all youth who says they're trans turn out to be. Only 1.1% who start HRT stopped it for any reason whatsoever. This is, like, the fifth youth transition study that I'm aware of, and all of their results have been identical.
Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later.
I've been seeing this article making the rounds lately, and the article is good and the methodology behind it is pretty good BUT It's a small sample size study of brain stuff, so, major grain of salt. 48 total participants is VERY SMALL when it comes to brain structure studies.
The COVID brain fog explained. The COVID-19 virus binds to the ACE2 receptor to enter cells. Dopamine producing neurons are rich in the ACE2 receptor. The virus causes disruption in the dopamine network in the brain. 🧪 tech-paper.com/scientists-f...
Last day of Gencon cosplay!! I forgot my plant earrings and lacked the spoons for eyeshadow, but I like this one, it's super cute!
Best gencon I've ever had, and it's not even done yet. 🥰
A Dr Mrs The Monarch gusged over my cosplay and one of Gencon's people asked me to do a turnbfor her on video, so that's gotta count as a win.
Look, if you have trouble finding me today at Gencon, that's a *you* problem. 😉
Let's see if this one is a hot button: Warhammer 40k. All of it. Claiming "satire" doesn't make it so. It's a celebration of fascism and doomerism and it's fueled by an incredibly explorative hyoercapitalist company. It's just bad.
What is an extremely nerdy/obscure/specific thing you hate with a white-hot wrath?
Seriously, look at this sick-ass character sheet!!! Also, the new origin feats they're showing on thr okaytest materials are great and clever.
I'm playing Neon Odyssey. My character has a keytar and she's livestreaming the space-dungeon we're exploring. Pretty sure I'm preordering this game lmao.

Y'all, I am really falling in love with cosplay contacts. These things are amazing!
Fun fact: the last time I cosplayed Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, I was "crossplaying" Miss Kobayashi and Feeling Awkward Feelings 🤣
Gag (boob) cosplay for day 2 of Gencon!!
Hi, I'm a writing prof with a book on comics coming out in a couple of months--a book that began life as a presentation at C's, the 77-year-old conference you recently unceremoniously axed without warning, and under false pretenses. Are you going to betray these ELA scholars as shamefully?
Last week, members of NCTE's teacher cohorts that are creating classroom resources for ELA and comics viewed historical artifacts at @librarycongress.bsky.social. Then they presented at @sandiegocomic-con.bsky.social about teaching with @carnegie.org’s #GreatImmigrants, Great Americans comic series.
