Sadly, I never did “buy the whole toy store” when I grew up, like I promised myself I would when I was 8 years old, and we could only afford the knock off Barbies. I do make regular trips to Dollar Tree though. 😉
Every once in a while out of nowhere I’ll start singing like that Tribal College Financial Aid character on Reservation Dogs. I’ll just be on my way in the car somewhere, and I’m all, “YAA, HEY YAH HEYYY, YAAA HEY YAH HEYY, FORRR-TEEE NIIIINE!” Hair swinging and everything. 😬

My sons are more hunter than gatherer, and therefore I got buffalo jerky for Mother’s Day! 😂🥰 It’s flipping delicious. The kids also made me elk hash and pancakes for my brunch. 🫶🏾

Getting older is just constantly playing “How on earth did I hurt myself just SLEEPING” several times a month.
My ancestors hunted buffalo while riding bareback, and domesticated corn to feed entire continents. And here I am, losing the travel receipts I need to turn in for reimbursement.

The more I see the horrible in this world, the more I retreat into peace. I’m slowing down & breathing. Taking my tea & smudge. Bringing my children close & praying a LOT. Idk if this is my calm before I unleash, or if it’s a soft place made for my Littles. Maybe it’s both. Mothers are dragons.
