Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

how do i get my PS4 to run at 480p in safe/recovery mode and not 576p. just because i'm an awesome swag as heck european doesn't mean i support Resolution And Scan Type Nobody Ever Thought About

anyone else had issues with GCC on Fedora/Red Hat just failing to compile position independent code properly? something that works on Ubuntu, Debian etc requires either manual compiler/linker flag changes to make actual position independent code, otherwise functionally it expects a base address of 0

got far enough into this current simpsons rewatch to see my favorite scene in the entire show. some of the funniest animation they've ever done and dan castellaneta's gutteral "ow... OWWWWWWWWWWWW" wrecks me every time

haven't used the upstream Bluesky client in a good couple months, only now found out they added a way to view alt text for videos for non-screen readers. no idea when they did this but that's really cool put alt text on ur images and videos btw

screenshot of a Bluesky post with a video attached, a small "ALT" badge shown in the top right corner of the video, and a modal dialog on displayed on top saying "Alt Text", containing the alt text of the video. (the post is from "furry hater" saying "when the... when... uhhhhhh... wait can i restart? No? when uhhhhh... fuck... i'm sorry guys... i screwed it all up... just like i always do...", the video is of a bootleg nick wilde zootopia OC and the alt text is "zootopia oc singing: "baby we built this house")

There's sadly no other way to get grifters out of the scene other than completely rejecting this and not giving them a space at all. Not mentioning their blatant and incorrect usage of AI is just their latest tactic to try to break through. Outright irresponsible people shouldn't be celebrated.

Anyone who's played it with some minimal memory of how these games work has reported the whole thing feels extremely off, yet people seem happy to give it a thumbs up because it looks cool on a headline. If you want to make an AI-generated fangame, that's fine, but don't call it something it's not.
