Ultimately I think the key issue facing left foreign policy is that the Pax Americana was a far better outcome than anything we've seen before in world-historical terms, and while a better world is possible, "multipolarity" won't create that on its own, and today's China and Russia especially won't.

BART@bart.gov · last wk.These monitors are getting completely redesigned to be more useful and less confusing. They will also always show the next train including when a train is at the platform boarding. The design is done but we are waiting for the engineers to make the change.

@bart.gov idea for fixing this problem where the info screen flips between the next train and the one after that. (I took these two photos seconds apart.) Only show each line once, with all the next train times separated by commas. The number of cars displayed can just be for the next train.
Cities are not about fun. They're places where people go to do serious things like study, and make vaccines, and negotiate contracts. The fun that they create is merely a positive externality, and we shouldn't ever forget that or we'll mix up what actually makes them great.

Tadej is so dominant that it's not even demoralizing to get dropped by him without him getting out of the saddle. Like yeah, that happened, but he was on his way to breaking a three-decade-old record for the fastest time up Alpe d'Huez by over a minute. What are you supposed to do against that?
