🚨New paper out from a really cool joint experiment we did in Manchester 🎉 Check it out! Soil, plant genetic diversity, fungi, root exudates, enzymes, isotopes... a bit of everything 😀🌱🍄

New study on how intraspecific variability changes plant-soil responses to simulated grazing @irene-cordero.bsky.social, et al. nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... Summary also available in Spanish. @plantecoevout.bsky.social #PlantScience

Experimental design. Twenty genotypes of Anthoxanthum odoratum were grown as either monocultures or random mixtures of four genotypes and were either subjected to simulated grazing (defoliation after 14 and 25 wk of growth) or left unclipped, resulting in 80 microcosms in total (a, b).

Hi everyone!! I have moved to Bluesky! I am a soil ecologist studying soil biodiversity and function, and how global change modifies them (drought, land use...). I work at WSL, Switzerland, at the Plant-Animal interactions group 😀 A few pictures of me working in the field, greenhouse and lab! 🌱🍄🦠🪱🪲🧬
