We may never be angels, but we’re lousy with the spirit. Librarian in the city: bibliographical odd-jobs; will catalog for food. Free non sequiturs.

Because that question is not value neutral. Charles Murray didn’t write the Bell curve because he wanted to help black people and thought that affirmative action might not be the best way to do that. Bad faith matters

I don’t like this, but I would just point out that this is what industrial level book scanning does. They guillotine off the spine and put the now loose sheets into a feeder for scanning. Afterwards, they either shrink wrap and shelve the remains or pulp them

companies are sourcing millions of printed books for AI labs that scan them for training data, then destroy them. printed books are more valuable because they're free of AI slop, and AI labs know destroying them is an "optics problem." www.404media.co/ai-companies...

hey folks, six figure opinion columnist here and gotta say, made a big ol’ whoopsie on the most consequential and honestly, probably the most obvious opinion of my life. thats my bad. anyway, guess I’ll just keep getting paid to give my opinion, thanks for reading

Idk man, but it sure seems like the people complaining about doomers are the same people who say “what do you expect them to do?” every time people say Dems should do something. they always have an excuse for why Dems can’t do anything but the doomers are wrong for saying Dems won’t do anything?

Not really the point, but calling it “America’s state fair” is so fucking stupid. It should either be “American states’ fair” or, better,“America’s national fair.” Can somebody hire an editor for these dipshits?
