the culmination of one year of collaborative work on a #SciArt zine discussing gynecological issues, finally in print form! from a lovely team from the @sangerinstitute.bsky.social with special thanks to Dr @talkswithdrsesay.bsky.social and Dr Gioia Canciani for reviewing the contents! 🥼🩸
super proud to be a part of Pelvic Matters, a scientifically illustrated zine on gynaecological health!

Seymour Benzer was a leading behaviour geneticist, he discovered genes in Drosophila controlling circadian rhythm, mating, & memory. Lesser known is his work to find mutations that turn these slimy squishy flies into scrumptious delectable snacks #sciart #thecellmatescartoons
i will be live sketching some of the talks from #AIxBio25
We’re thrilled to welcome over 600 attendees from 75 countries to the AI x BIO Conference! Whether you’re one of the 232 scientists joining us in person or among the 400+ tuning in online, a warm welcome to you all. Stay connected and share your conference moments using our hashtag: #AIxBio25
You can now view #VariantEffect25 presentations from @pollyfordyce.bsky.social @davidjadams.bsky.social @nickywhiffin.bsky.social along with many many others! on our YouTube channel www.youtube.com/@cmap_cegs84... (hat tip to @isabellease.bsky.social for the excellent illustrations)
Our 2017 paper on Msh2 variants w @rhp-lab.bsky.social just reached 100 citations doi.org/10.1371/jour... We mostly focused on the impact of stability and degradation, but in hindsight we should also have highlighted our use of the GREMLIN Markov random field model to predict variant effects

That’s all for #VariantEffect25! This was my first time live sketching a conference, it was a really fun and interesting experience. The science was fantastic, i learnt so much!! Big thanks to everyone who shared any of my sketches or spoke to me about them, i really appreciate it.
@isabellease.bsky.social is drawing amazing artwork for each speaker at #VariantEffect25 - crazy beautiful and super good summaries in all cases, have a look🤯
