This little rat snake was in a place where our curious neighbors' cats might find it so I moved it closer to the marsh where there's more fallen leaves and thick foliage for protection. #nature

This baby finch graduated flight school yesterday after giving its wings a little test drive. I wish I could have seen it take off but maybe it will swing by and say hello from time to time. Now there's one finch left to take the big leap. 🥰🦉

Ok y'all. We just got back from a Loggerhead turtle nest check and there were seven hatchlings that needed help emerging from the nest (the team gives them three days to emerge on their own). Check out this baby headed to the big ol' sea. 💗 #seaturtle #nature #turtle 🐢🦑

The turtle watch team found these little hatchlings disoriented on the beach yesterday morning. They were going to care for the turtles until high tide and then release them into the ocean. How cute are these sweet things? #nature 💚🐢

Two turtles facing right are sitting on a white hand towel inside a plastic bin. They are black with brown highlights and dappled with sand. They are approximately 2.5 inches/6 centimeters long.

Check out this Diamondback terrapin snacking on snails and crabs in the marsh yesterday. It's about 12 feet/4.5 meters away so the video is a bit fuzzy. Look at its cute long neck and lovely shell pattern. Diamondbacks have webbed feet and live in brackish waters like salt marshes. 🐢 #turtles
